About Herbie A. Brown Jr.
A May 2005 graduate of Johnson and Wales University, Coach Brown finished as the all-time stolen base leader in baseball. Coach Brown excelled not only on the field but in the classroom as well, graduating with honours and comlpeting college with a 3.73 grade point average. Upon completion of college, Brown, a hospitality and sports management major, entered the teaching field and embarked on his career in September of 2005 at St. John's College High School in Nassau, Bahamas.
Further more, in February,2008, Coach Brown led St.John's Senior Girls Basketball team to another victory of their second of two straight championship titles! The senior girls finished the season with a 13 wins - 1 loss record! Success for St. John's didn't end there, because in 2006, history was made at the school when the coach led the Junior Girls Basketball team to their first playoffs appearance with a record of 5 wins-3 losses.
In March of 2008, Coach Brown estabished the Bahamas Ballers Basketball Club. The original club members comprised of outstanding female players from various high schools in Nassau and Freeport. This All-Star team traveled to Tallahassee, FL and finished third in a tournament known as the Spring Shootout.
It is fitting to note that Coach Brown is not only ready but able to continue this tradition of success and he is more than willing to assist in grooming student-athletes for college and life.
